The nine steps

Open Snapchat

Open Snapchat on the camera screen and tap the filters icon inside the Snapchat camera.

Stay on the camera screen — not in Memories.

Explore

Then tap the search bar of the filters.

It's the magnifier at the end of the filter carousel.

Search

Once in the search bar, type: UP

Two letters, nothing else.

Pick the filter

Tap the first filter called Camera Roll that appears.

If it doesn't show up, retype UP and wait a second.

Choose the photo

Choose the photo from your gallery that you want to send.

Use the Full HD AuraSnap download, never a screenshot.

Capture

Now press the shutter button to take the photo.

One quick tap — that's what makes it a red snap.

Finalise

Restart the app if needed to validate the filter.

Only needed the very first time you use the filter.

Send

Tap Send To to choose your recipients.

Add your Story too — that's where the replies come from.

You're done

Choose who to send it to and the snap goes out with no filter at all, like a real red snap.
